Captive Hearts Book 1: In Enemy Hands
Falling in love makes me a traitor.
I wake up one day tied up and helpless. A huge Rhennian soldier stands over me. His name is Neil, and he says I’m his prisoner of war. My people are pacifists, but that doesn’t stop the Rhennian empire from claiming our lands.
As we journey through the wilderness, he’s nothing like I expected. He lets me share his sleeping bag in the brutal cold of night. He saves my life when bandits attack. I can’t help noticing his muscular body and the way his eyes crinkle when he laughs.
And when he looks at me, my skin prickles. He wants me too.
It's one thing to dream of my enemy's hands on my body while we're alone. It’s another to face reality. We can't fall in love without betraying our people.
We’re at war—and I'm at war with myself.
And I think I'm losing.
In Enemy Hands is an enemies-to-lovers MM romance set in a non-magical gaslamp fantasy world. This is the first of four novels following Neil and Aaron, as their love story entwines with the fate of empires. Happy Ever After ending at the end of book 4.
Captive Hearts Book 2: Ash and Roses
Neil has always been the protector. But now it's my turn to save him.
Callinthen soldiers have taken the city. They force me to watch, helpless, as they parade my boyfriend Neil through his own streets as a prisoner. He already blames himself for the invasion; living under occupation will destroy him. He's my big strong soldier, but this time he needs someone to rescue him.
My only chance is an invitation to the banquet celebrating the new emperor's victory. Maybe I can beat the Callinthens with trickery, manipulating their "mystical" talisman. I can't get caught: they aren't known for their mercy. But if I don't try, the city will be stuck under their command forever and Neil will never forgive himself. Trouble is, he's so overprotective. He'd never let me attempt my dangerous plan. So I just won't tell him.
This is book 2 of 4 in the Captive Hearts series, which follows Neil and Aaron's love story and ends with a Happy Ever After for the couple. This book has a Happy For Now ending.
Content notes: scenes of a graphic sexual nature between consenting adults, light bondage/powerplay, mild violence, threat to life, scenes of battle including death, swearing, class-based social injustice, child labour, mention of alcohol misuse, mention of sexual coercion.

Captive Hearts Book 3: Sworn Soldier

Can I still love Neil when he isn't Neil?
Neil is ridiculous. We've just gotten engaged, and he agrees to a perilous diplomatic mission without asking me first. It's impossible to stay mad at him when he looks at me with those puppy-dog eyes. But if he thinks I'm going to let him ride off into the unknown without me to take care of him, he's dead wrong.
His job is to supervise peace talks between Rhennian diplomats and the Callinthen High Priestess. Then the priestess' guards snatch Neil and me and force us into carriages headed for Callinth, and it's clear the talks were a ruse. Her real target is Neil, the man she calls the Sworn Soldier. He'll be nothing more than a puppet in her schemes for power. Her poison gets to work, and the Neil I love is buried under layers of aggression and megalomania. Alone and hopelessly outnumbered, I'm at my lowest moment. How can we escape our enemies' web when Neil doesn't even want to leave? Will I ever manage to bring back the sweet, gentle man I love?
Sworn Soldier is book 3 of 4 in the Captive Hearts series, which follows soldier Neil and pacifist Aaron's love story. There's a Happy Ever After ending at the end of book 4.

Captive Hearts Book 4: Heart of the Empire
All I want is to marry my soulmate, Neil. Right now, that dream seems farther away than it’s ever been. We’re trapped as reluctant rulers of Callinth, with Neil still under the control of our enemies High Priestess Vascilla and General Syrillus. Their mind-control poison makes him brutal and unpredictable. When he orders the execution of an innocent man, I’ll have to take my biggest risk yet to save him from himself.
Can I bring him back to himself? Can we finish the job we started and bring about peace between two warring empires? I’m just an anonymous pacifist; it seems too much to hope for. But with Neil by my side, maybe nothing is impossible. Maybe, one day, we’ll have our wedding in a world without war.
