The Gambler's Prize

Gambler's Prize final.jpg

I won him to extract my revenge. So why is losing him my biggest fear?

Lord Florian Southland is the spoiled little aristocrat who ruined my life. Now it’s time for justice. I trick him into losing at cards. He’ll give me two years of his life in indentured servitude, just like he stole two years of mine.

He isn’t what I expected. Scars on his torso tell me that his life hasn’t been as charmed as I thought. He’s sweet. Eager to please. When he says, “Yes, Boss,” it makes me look at his full lips more than I want to. My pathetic craving for his affection fights with my need to destroy him.

At last I'm stung into revealing my hatred. He runs off. My house feels empty without him. I miss his constant annoying chatter and the way he ties up his long dark hair with velvet. I want to chase after him, catch him and bring him home where he belongs.

Haunted by the Highwayman

Watching Rick crawl for the masked stranger is the perfect Treat this Halloween.

Rick is athletic, outgoing, confident. He might be my roommate, but romantically he's way out of my league. And teasing me is his favorite thing in the world. I can’t let him beat me, not even when he dares me to wear a pink diamante-studded collar. When he challenges me to attend a Halloween masked ball at a haunted castle, I have to step up.

At the party, one guest keeps staring at us. He’s dressed as a highwayman: dramatic black cloak, dark mask, blue eyes glinting like ice, the works. He invites us both upstairs for a private party. He’s commanding enough to do what I can’t: put Rick in his place. But even as the highwayman takes control, he isn’t touching us at all. Are we sharing our fantasies with a ghost? The otherworldly experience brings Rick and me closer than ever before. Halloween might be the perfect time to confess that I want more from him than just games of dare.

Friends with benefits to more, best friend's little brother, jock/nerd, and a hot, ghostly highwayman to command them both in this Halloween MMM short story (~15k words).

Winning the Woodsman

I’m a sheltered duke's son who’s barely been kissed. He’s a grumpy woodsman who’s determined to teach me.

I’ll do anything to avoid marrying the man my parents have chosen for me, even flee into the dangerous forest beyond the city limits. Soon I’m caught in a hunter’s trap and panicking. Then a muscular, dark-eyed stranger appears. He cuts me loose and carries me to his cottage to tend my wounds. And then he lets me stay. And stay.

The woodsman is grumpy and secretive. But he’s kind, too. When a blizzard descends, snowing us in together, I'm drawn to him. What would a rugged outdoorsman want with a spoiled and inexperienced nobleman like me? Yet I keep wondering what it would be like to kiss him. Especially when he calls me city boy. When he starts calling me good boy, I know I’m in trouble.

MM romance meets cozy gaslamp fantasy in this low angst, feel-good novella. With first times, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, a match-making dog, and heartwarming winter vibes.

Content notes: graphic scenes of a sexual nature between consenting adults, light praise kink, occasional swearing, mild injury, mention of forced marriage. Mention of offscreen battle violence and death.

Love Game

Two high school friends turned enemies. A seven-year sulk. One happy ending this Christmas?

On the tennis court, Dane and I hate each other. But in the locker room where no one can see, we can't keep our hands off each other. Our angry hookups mean nothing. That's what I tell myself, anyway. I can't forgive him for selling me out when we were at school. I waited for him under the mistletoe but he left me hanging, alone and humiliated.

As Christmas approaches, things start to get more tender. Dane saves me when I fall from a treadmill while dressed as an elf (don’t ask). Soon we're snuggling up together watching Christmas movies. Will the holiday season thaw our hearts? Or is he still too caught up in what people think to ever claim me in public?
